I can laugh about it now – but at the time I was offended and very prickly for a while. You see, I had assumed
I knew everything about laundry and could tell anyone how to clean anything!
The moment of truth occurred when I attended a Laundry Training Session hosted by the Linen Drawer CEO,
Jimmy Ferendinos. It started quite easily, we were given a questionnaire and asked about the wash care
symbols that occur on all labels – clothing, bedding, tabling. Easy peasy, I thought. Got them all right too,
this was going to be easy fun.
Well, that was the start; as the session progressed, it dawned on me, slowly dampening my know-it-all
confidence, that Jimmy knew exactly what he was talking about and I knew very, very little.
The session was so informative, taking us through the wash-care symbols, explaining why they should be
adhered to, and the consequences of not complying with the washing instructions on products. As Oprah
says, an “aha moment!” No question was deemed too inconsequential, and the explanations were utterly
understandable and backed by years of experience in the fabric/textile business.
This training sets Linen Drawer apart from other companies manufacturing and supplying bed and bath linen to
the retail, décor and hospitality industry. This ability to assist and the dedication to helping solve any laundry
problem is what puts Linen Drawer in a class of its own!
All staff at Linen Drawer are given the Laundry Training, so as to assist with clients’ queries. This is part of the
superb after sales service that is offered when you purchase a Linen Drawer product.
There is also no time limit on queries – you can ask for help at any time. Linen Drawer prides itself on solving
laundry problems, simply, easily and with friendly feedback, which also helps you not have the same problem
I can hear you – “that’s fine, but how do I get hold of this?” Well, easy peasy again. If you are a member of the
hospitality industry, contact Linen Drawer for a Laundry Training session for your Laundry staff.
If you are a retail customer, or even a décor customer, than popping Linen Drawer an email at
firstname.lastname@example.org with your laundry query will put you on track to having your problem solved.
The Linen Drawer website also has a handy stain removal guide, click on this link:
https://www.linendrawer.co.za/index.php/advice-stain-removal this will help you with specific problems as well.
Should you have further queries please contact us on email@example.com
You are also very welcome to visit our shop in Paarl should you be in the vicinity, and require laundry advice.
One more thing – Linen Drawer has developed their very own Laundry Detergent! It is available in our
shop and can be ordered through firstname.lastname@example.org. It is formulated for safe use on bed and bath
linen and the results are spectacular – at the risk of sounding like a laundry commercial!
Armed with all the above information, I am sure Laundry Day is now going to be much easier. Remember
this service if free to all Linen Drawer clients – whether you have bought boatloads of product or just a
pillowcase. It’s our pleasure to help you solve your Laundry Challenges.

This is the question of the day. Where would you go if you could go anywhere? Let your imagination run wild.
Really – where would you go – if there was no social distancing and all the other rules that apply in a pandemic?
The wonderful thing is, there is no right or wrong answer.
I would pack my coolest percale sheets and pillowcases, put my favourite pillow in it’s designated carrying bag,
pack a few items of clothing and hit the road! Driving anywhere that isn’t for necessary shopping is a pleasure, and I
would make sure it would take me in the direction of the widest, warmest ocean.
I want to see that blue stretching to the horizon, with a beach to match. I would like to walk until the sea, sand and
swooping gulls wash all the fuzz from my mind and my eyes open wide and clear.
It has to be warm. A comfortable warmth, no promise of heat, just warmth. The sun is only hot enough to be pleasant.
I would love to have the freedom I once took entirely for granted, to go and keep going until I reach where I need to be,
to really be me.
Where would you go? What would you do? What are you doing to get there?

It gives me great pleasure to introduce our newest product to you!!
Following the success of the Egyptian cotton gown, we developed the Pure Linen Gown.
The first-off the production floor is a unisex kimono-style washed linen gown. Washed, because we want you to immediately appreciate the fascinating beauty of linen.
Our linen gowns are pure luxury. The feel of pure linen against your skin speaks of indulgent living. Knowing your gown is going to last and is a natural product ensures peace of mind.
Flax (linen) cut, ready to process Flax(linen) stalks to thread/yarn ready to weave
Linen is hypo-allergenic and is perfect for our climate, being breathable and cool in summer. Linen is very washable, and easy to iron when slightly damp. It needs to be washed in very hot water – at least 60⁰C, and preferably dried in natural sunlight. Linen can be given a light tumble dry.
Linen plants have a smaller impact on the environment than cotton plants, and the whole production process of linen fabric is less water-hungry than cotton. During processing linen fabric, the whole plant is used – the seeds of the plant product flax-seeds. Linen plants also require far less pesticides and water to grow, making them an ecologically sound choice.
You could have your gown personalised with your monogram embroidered onto the front chest, or you could satin-stitch your favourite colour around the neck band, or do both! Hemstitching can be added to the gown around the neck band, sleeve hems and pocket hems.
In fact, when it comes to personalising your gown, look no further than Linen Drawer. We can help you make those creative ideas come to life. https://www.linendrawer.co.za/
Of course, these gowns make super gifts. What better wedding gift than a set of pure linen gowns with the newly-weds’ monograms on the front? Or their nick-names, for a quirky twist? The sky’s the limit! We look forward to showing off our newest addition to our luxurious range of gowns to you.

Welcome to the new decade!
Goodness, you might say, what happened to welcoming the New Year? My answer – a New Decade calls for a greater amount of mental preparation and planning – mental fitness, as well as resilience.
We face trying times as a planet, never mind as a country. Two options are open to us at such times – to turn our backs and shrug off all responsibility, or to face the challenges as they arrive; embracing the change that is necessary for us to triumph. At Linen Drawer we are facing up to our responsibilities and flexing our ‘change-muscles’, ready for the future.
In times of change and challenge, it is only the constants of our humanity that enable us to cope. Our ability to be kind, compassionate, generous, to have fun, to reason, and to evaluate our responses to life-situations allow us to handle the changes life demands of us.
Kindness is the most underrated, yet most important, gift we can give one another. To be consistently kind is difficult.
Somehow, we humans are not wired to be kind, even compassion is easier than kindness. Having experienced true kindness a few times in my life, I can testify that it makes the recipient feel not only loved, but valued and included.
The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer. Mahatma Gandhi
Fast developing technology, global politics that scare and intimidate, economic challenges and a world that seems to be careening towards annihilation; all are counteracted by the new global trends (mostly spearheaded by youth) of contemplative living, mindfulness and kindness towards each other and the planet we live on. A life-raft of hope, we only need to grasp it!
Gentleness and kindness will make our homes a paradise upon earth. C. A. Bartol
Take it slowly. There’s no need to change the world in a morning. Constant practise of kindness makes every act of kindness easier. Welcome new year, new decade, new world!

The giving season has arrived with a flurry of tinsel and a tinkle of “Feliz Navidad”.
